"Stay Real" and "Shelter The Light" is the new double single from Brazilian by way of Portland rock singer Johnny Franco. Currently living in the US, Johnny wrote "Stay Real" and "Shelter The Light" as two soulful and heartfelt tunes in response to surviving the craziness that is 2020. Their message is to stay human and live in the moment, while resisting the urge to go to a place of despair. Because of the pandemic, Johnny has not been able to travel back to Brazil. So although they have a universal message, "Stay Real" and "Shelter The Light" have a deeper meaning for him personally.

Walk down any street in Portland, Oregon and you are sure to encounter a mustachioed Brazilian spaghetti western rock and roll troubadour named Johnny Franco. Recently moving from Sao Paulo, Johnny has developed a cult following in Portland for his high energy street performances and stylish music. Signed by music producer Sterling Fox (Lana Del Rey, Elle King) on his label Blanket Fort, Johnny has put together a debut EP that feels instantly timeless. The debut single “Treated Like Grass” combines Dylanesque vocal stylings with a unique jangly Brazilian influenced beat. The EP Experience Report #1 is due out in early 2020.

Johnny now finds himself in Portland, Oregon. Between day-long street-performances where he plays a mix of his own songs and covers, Johnny found time to record his debut collection of songs under his own name. Experience Report #1 is the name of the EP, featuring four tracks of spaghetti-western jungle-folk that are as wild and varied as his background.
