Niall Horan Hits No.1 On The Official US Albums Chart
Niall Horan’s debut solo album, 'Flicker', is No.1 in the USA.
The album has entered the Billboard 200 Chart at No.1, with 152,000 equivalent album units earned during the week ending October 26.
Fresh from a US Top 40 Airplay No.1 with 'Slow Hands', and an AMA nomination for 'New Artist of the Year', Niall released his debut album 'Flicker' on October 20th. It has so far topped the iTunes chart in an amazing 61 countries.
Niall says: "To get a No.1 album in the US with Flicker is simply amazing. I'm very happy! I spent a long time recording this record and it's very personal to me, so I'm overwhelmed at the reaction. This couldn't have come at a better time, as I start my US tour tonight in Philadelphia! I can't wait to tour the world again in 2018 and perform the songs for everyone".
'Flicker' contains 10 original songs, including the hits 'This Town', 'Slow Hands' and 'Too Much To Ask'. He collaborated with producers Julian Bunetta, Jacquire King and Greg Kurstin to develop the distinctive sound he envisioned for the album.
Niall, who has sold over 70 million records as part of the all-conquering One Direction, launched 'Flicker' with appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, TODAY, the Radio 1 Breakfast Show and 60 Minutes Australia.
The final leg of Niall's sold-out Flicker Sessions 2017 World Tour is underway. It includes shows at New York City’s Beacon Theatre (October 31) and Ryman Auditorium in Nashville (November 13). Tickets are on sale now for the more extensive Flicker World Tour 2018, which will see Niall performing to crowds in Europe, North America, South America and Australasia.
'This Town', the album’s first single, has sold more than three million track equivalent units globally and combined streams now surpass 450 million worldwide. The follow-up single, 'Slow Hands' went straight to No.1 in 44 countries and now has more than 820 million combined streams worldwide.
