The New Groovement To Embark on Western Canadian Tour“There is little more fun and exciting around Victoria these days than getting sweaty and dancing your face off to the ripping-good tunes of The New Groovement. These guys bring it, every time they're on stage.” - Kelly Nakatsuka, CBC Radio For Immediate Release: February 1, 2017; B.C. rising stars The New Groovement are embarking on their most ambitious tour yet, which for this 9-piece R&B, Soul, Hip Hop and Funk band takes them across 3 western Canadian provinces. “Moving a band of 9 people 4200km to do 9 shows in 10 nights, including a ferry and several mountain passes is not easy,” says vocalist and emcee Danimal House, “but we are so excited as this will be our first time touring outside of BC.” If The Roots had the soul of Aretha Franklin and the energy of Jamiroquai then you’d have The New Groovement. The bands debut full length The Orange Album was produced by Joby Baker (Alex Cuba, Cowboy Junkies) and won the Vancouver Island Music Awards Album of the Year award. They are currently nominated for Urban Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. "They're leaving a funk-infused collar-popping impression on the BC music festival circuit as well as reminding music lovers what it's like to have real instruments in a modem day chart topper" - James Green, Shaw TV, Go!
