Released on August 28th this year, ‘#tellyourheart’ promises to be a universal triumph. Born in Switzerland to a Swiss Father and German Mother, Stemin spent his early years in Italy, soaking up the culture and giving himself freely to the enduring spirit of the ancient cities. Brought up in a family where music was always at the very heart of daily life, Stemin was introduced to piano and saxophone early, diving into the classical rhythms and melodies. Surrounded by tape, CD’s, concerts and festivals, Stemin soon found himself lost in a world of music, giving every waking moment to his piano, choir, and his own creative desires.

“While growing up, music represented a hiding place, the place in which I could take shelter and find answers to my emotional side. What captured my attention in music was the sensibility of it and the way music connected to me personally and intimately. I am a very sensible and emotional individual who has been exposed to some difficult experiences as a kid, therefore music represented for me that world to which I could run to, a hiding place; a world where emotions were associated to different colors; a world where acceptance and understanding was ruling; an imaginary world that helped me overcome these dark moments. I remember listening a lot to Donny Hathaway and finding a connection with him in the way his sensibility was being portrayed through the music.”

As he grew up, Stemin discovered the jazz and the Motown era, and he instantly fell in love with the timeless sounds and styles of this bold new genre. It was a love that definitely shaped the sound of his debut album, ‘Love Through My Eyes’, which was released in 2017. A wonderfully reflective release, it narrated his journey through life with a rhythmic jazz sound, perfectly illustrating his seemingly infinite musical talents. An expansive release, the album captured Stemin’s love of combining different styles with his own personal sense of expression, and it laid the foundation for things to come.

“The voice is a proper instrument, able to express deep feelings as almost any other instruments can do. It is strictly connected to the soul and becomes its audible expression; it converts the invisible in visible, it creates new sounds and colours, it transforms an emotion into music. The voice is an instrument to be found out, subject to constant evolution and expansion. An expansion which goes beyond our traceable imaginative borders.”

His new album, ‘#tellyourheart’ follows the path first set my Stemin’s debut record, bringing with it a contemporary RnB and neo-soul feel, both in terms of the songwriting and production. An emotive and vibrant experience, ‘#tellyourheart’ brings freedom and a universal appeal, extolling the virtues and positive side to life in an empowering display of talent and style. In his own words, Stemin described his wishes and inspiration for the release as being about enjoying life and being true to yourself, not letting others push you around or decide your fate for you.
