Powerhouse entertainer Todrick Hall has unveiled the blockbuster visuals for ‘Queen’ – an empowering anthem about self-acceptance and unapologetically celebrating your individuality. Watch here. The club-ready banger, written by Todrick, is the latest release from his 2021 album FEMULINE, which he is currently touring across the US and soon to arrive in the UK in May. Tickets are available here.

Renowned for his charismatic and high-energy performances, Todrick is a multi-disciplined modern-day entertainer and recording artist with over 800 million YouTube views to his name. He has starred in a selection of Broadway smashes, collaborated with Beyoncé, and co-executive produced the award-winning music video for Taylor Swift’s LGBTQ+ anthem ‘You Need To Calm Down’.

The ‘Queen’ music video perfectly encapsulates Todrick’s inspirational life story, showing him breaking free of rigid societal expectations to unleash his inner, unapologetic Queen. The video opens with Todrick enclosed in traditionally conservative school and church environments, surrounded by other students in uniform, encouraged to sit down and conform. Once the inner Queen is unleashed, we are treated to a visual feast of choreography, colour and defiant self-expression.

Todrick Hall said: “‘Queen’ is a survivor anthem. It’s a statement for anyone embracing their individuality and finding power in living their truth. No matter who you are or where you come from, I believe there is an inner Queen in all of us. It’s time to let it out."

He adds, "This music video was filmed in Kyiv, Ukraine in January. It was a real honor to be able to film in some of the city’s iconic landmarks. I’ll never forget this experience. It is so heartbreaking to see what has happened in the last month. Our hearts are with the people of Ukraine. We stand with you.”

Filmed in Kyiv, Ukraine in January, the video brings together the spectacle of a Broadway musical performance with pure drag fun that audiences around the world have come to expect from the former RuPaul’s Drag Race judge. As well as ‘Queen’, Todrick’s FEMULINE album also features collaborations with the Queen of Funk Chaka Khan, Nicole Scherzinger, Brandy, Tyra Banks and TS Madison. The album written was written entirely by Todrick, with production from Grammy-winning Wiidope (Nicole Scherzinger, Ciara) and Jeeve (Bruno Mars, Britney Spears). The title of this bold music project is a nod to embracing both feminine and masculine sides. Todrick said, “It has taken me years and years, even after coming out, to be this comfortable embracing my masculine and feminine sides. I’m so excited to give people permission to live their lives as their fullest and truest selves with this music that I handcrafted specifically for the gay community.” Listen here.

About

About Todrick Hall:
Todrick Hall’s unstoppable, self-sustained rise has taken him a long way from his roots in the tiny Texan town of Plainview. He quickly went from national fame on American Idol to international attention through RuPaul’s Drag Race to commanding a huge global following on social media. And that’s before you even factor in his Broadway runs in ‘Kinky Boots’, ‘Chicago’ and ‘Waitress’, or his role as dance captain on the BBC’s ‘Greatest Dancer’. His profile continued to explode in the wake of his COVID-19 themed anthem ‘Mask, Gloves, Soap, Scrubs’, which he followed by hosting Global Pride 2020 for YouTube.
