As TikTok's symphony with classical music continues, we are proud to announce the return of #ClassicalMusic with TikTok sensation Anna Lapwood as our Official Featured Artist.

Ahead of the star's debut BBC Proms recital at Royal Albert Hall on 25th July, the reprise will also place BBC Promscentre stage on TikTok to ensure classical lovers can enjoy the best content from the eight-week summer orchestral extravaganza on the platform.

When asked about being the face of #ClassicalMusic, Anna Lapwood said: "One of my favourite things about TikTok is how it helps smash down perceived barriers between different genres - since I started using TikTok I've worked with so many people from all sorts of musical backgrounds and realised what a glorious tool collaboration can be to bring classical music to a new audience. TikTok has really blown open my whole musical world and I can't wait to see what collaboration the world throws at me next!"

For fans of #ClassicalMusic, the BBC Proms is an iconic moment in the classical music calendar, with eight weeks of daily orchestral concerts and unmissable events held in London's Royal Albert Hall. With the support of BBC Proms and Anna Lapwood, TikTok will transform its #ClassicalMusic hub and deliver fans exclusive content and a special curated playlist for complete classical immersion.

Sam Jackson, Controller, BBC Radio 3, said: “I want the BBC Proms to be accessible to absolutely everyone, whether that’s listening on Radio 3, watching on TV or on social media. This collaboration with TikTok is so exciting because it allows us to reach new audiences in creative ways, while showcasing the magic of the live music we perform in the Royal Albert Hall and at venues across the UK.”

Anna Lapwood's journey on TikTok and beyond
Anna Lapwood is one of classical music's fastest growing names, becoming a bonified star on TikTok who captures the attention of younger and older generations. The organ sensation is marking an exciting new chapter as she announces her eagerly anticipated debut album Luna - out September 29th on Sony Classical.

Anna has opened the gateways for fans to discover classical music on TikTok, particularly with her midnight organ sessions that have brought fans into the Royal Albert Hall to witness exclusive rehearsal sessions up close and personal. After receiving an overwhelming amount of support for these videos, Anna released a 5-track EP earlier this year titled 'Midnight Sessions At The Royal Albert Hall'.

The star's magnetic personality and masterful pieces have helped her amass over 16.7 million likes and 550k followers on TikTok, as well as accolades such as the prestigious RPS Gamechanger Award at The Royal Philharmonic Society Awards.

As a champion of all things #ClassicalMusic, Anna has used her popularity to shine a light on gender disparities in the discipline, with only 8% of UK organ recitals being delivered by women last year. To encourage women across the world to try the organ, Anna helped popularise the #PlayLikeAGirl TikTok trend, which has taken a life of its own with over 93m views spanning different instruments and sports.

Celebrating classical music on TikTok
First launched with Hans Zimmer last year, TikTok's #ClassicalMusic hub is the central place for music fans to discover the best classical artists, culture, content and music. The hashtag has garnered over 4.3 billion views, with pioneering artists such as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Alexis Ffrench, Esther Abrami and Lang Lang using TikTok to interact with fans and share exclusive behind-the-scenes content with the community.

Lisa Skeppner, Label Partnerships Manager at TikTok said: "We are committed to shining a light on diverse genres, celebrating the arts, and introducing new generations to classical sounds. TikTok breathes new life into classical music, allowing creators all over the world to discover tracks they might not have otherwise heard. We're proud to be a home for classical stars like Anna Lapwood and delighted to be working with the Proms to bring the TikTok community closer to the treasured classical festival."
