UMP China to develop songwriter career of first and only Chinese singer on IFPI Top 10 Global Singles Chart

Universal Music Publishing China (UMP China), a division of Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), today announced an exclusive, global publishing agreement with acclaimed Chinese singer-songwriter Tia Ray. The first and only Chinese singer to be listed on IFPI's Top 10 Global Singles Chart, Tia has chosen UMP China as her music publisher to advance her songwriting career on the world stage.UMPG is recognized globally as a true music publisher and home to the industry's leading songwriters.

Tia made history as the sole Chinese artist on IFPI's Top 10 Global Singles chart with her hit song, "Be Apart," the world's seventh best-selling track in 2018. Additionally, her collaborative songwriting project, "TIVA000," received the 2021 Original Song Award of CCTV Global Chinese Music Top 10, and her self-produced album "Once Upon A Moon" garnered two nominations – Best Female Mandarin Singer and Best Vocal Recording Album – at the Golden Melody Awards.

Across four studio albums and nearly 40 singles, Tia has released notable, blended-genre records including "Emo Whiskey," "Love Can Fly," "Lucky Rain," "Ready for Love," "I'm Not Good," "TIVA000," "Time Wasn't Right," "Kismet," and "Amazing Timeless Vacation." She first gained prominence in 2012 as a finalist on the talent show "The Voice of China." Tia is also named Berklee College of Music's Honorary Ambassador to China.
