Producer, artist, and labelhead TOKiMONSTA and R&B duo VanJess have released “Say Yes,” a new single out now on Young Art Records. A rework of the homonymous 2002 track by Floetry, TOKiMONSTA reimagines the classic slow jam as a sleek and polished dance record with the fast rising VanJess of Keep Cool Records (home to Normani & Lucky Daye). “Say Yes'' is a track that not only pushes TOKiMONSTA’s boundaries as a producer, but further showcases the unique adaptability in her sound that has cemented her role as one of the industry’s most respected producers.

On the new record, TOKiMONSTA shares, “The original ‘Say Yes’ was a song that encompassed the deeper meanings of openness and love. Though the pandemic has been challenging, I felt inspired to tap into that introspection and reinterpret this song with the help of the incredible VanJess. It’s my first real dance record and I’m excited to share it with the world."

VanJess share, “We’ve missed doing covers and getting to collaborate on one with toki was really exciting because she created such a unique spin on it that’s true to her artistry.”

Getting her start in the LA underground scene, TOKiMONSTA has produced hits across all landscapes from deep house, electro-funk, and club-banging electronic. Her ear for talent and collaboration is well-respected, having worked early on with such critical darlings as EARTHGANG, Tinashe, Anderson .Paak, Jean Deaux, Dumbfounded and more. In 2014, she founded Young Art Records, a label of her favorite up-and-coming artists, and in 2020 she started a livestreaming show on Twitch talking with other musicians that saw her social numbers increase exponentially. This year, she once again proved her trendsetter status in January, releasing her own NFT on SuperRare with popular digital artist FVCKRENDER. In March, she hosted and curated a livestream event for National Women's Month to provide insight into the issues facing women in the arts and beyond with performances from Tinashe, Aluna, Rochelle Jordan and more. Watch for more music to come soon.
