Josie Award Winning singer/songwriter Irene Michaels will be performing at the Chicago Human Rhythm Project Jazz Showcase on Monday, December 4th, 2023.

Chicago Human Rhythm Project (CHRP) presents rhythm-culture in performances, education programs and community development initiatives that foster great art, social reconciliation and economic justice.

CHRP centers artists, companies and communities deeply connected to the practice of ancient foot, hand and vocal rhythmic traditions as they continue to evolve as living, relevant contemporary art forms.

CHRP centers and platforms American Tap, African, Native American, Indian, Mexican Folkloric, Irish Step and other culturally specific, rhythm-centric art forms.

CHRP brings people together who do not live next door to each other to celebrate diverse rhythmic traditions to build and support a common ground.

Irene Michaels is a lifelong entertainer, entrepreneur, and accomplished equestrian, who has made it a priority to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. She discovered her passion for dance at the age of eleven and went on to a career as a dancer, model, actress, owner of a successful modeling agency, and producer. As an actress, she appeared in television, film, theater, and a recurring role in the popular daytime soap opera General Hospital. Irene was also an Executive Producer of the docudrama, Betrayal: When the Government Took Over the Teamsters Union.

Irene is a singer, songwriter, musician and plays the guitar. She is an active member of Chicago Cabaret Professionals. She has performed as a vocalist in many venues, including Winter’s Jazz Club, Davenport’s, Le Piano, The Arcada Theatre, The Chicago Fine Arts Building, The Jazz Showcase, and her One Woman Show made its debut at the iconic Don’t Tell Mama cabaret in NYC in June of 2022. Irene is also the lead singer and frontperson for Chicago-based SELL OUT sensation the OUR HOUSE BAND, produced by her Tony Award-winning husband, Arny Granat.
