Randy Edelman To Be Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award by Career Bridges @ Metropolitan Club

New York City -It was announced today by David Bender, Artistic Director of the prestigious “Career Bridges” organization that Composer RANDY EDELMAN is to be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at their 20th anniversary gala and celebration on May 7, 2024 @ the historic and exquisite Metropolitan Club located @ 1 East 60th Street NYC. The award will be presented to Edelman to acknowledge and salute his distinguished, multiple and monumental contributions to the music industry. Edelman will also be performing his music as part of the black-tie festivities.

His music soundtracks lip the horizons, taste the gates of the underworld, capture the ethereal colors of a dying sun and amber dawn as seen through the heart of a child. Valued for creating over a hundred motion pictures and television scores including My Cousin Vinny, Ghostbusters ll, Kindergarten Cop, XXX, Dragonheart, The Bruce Lee Story, Billy Madison, While You We’re Sleeping, Twins, The Skull, Gettysburg (also used in the NASA space shuttle documentary “Dare Mighty Things”), the hit television series MacGyver, Last of the Mohicans (which earned him a Golden Globe nomination) and a vast array of others. The multi-award winning composer has also created themes for ESPN and the Olympics.

As a pianist, singer/songwriter, Edelman’s songs have been covered by some of the most iconic artists on the planet including Barry Manilow “A Weekend in New England”, Patti LaBelle “Isn’t it A Shame,” hip hop superstar Nelly “My Place,” The Carpenters “You,” Dionne Warwick “The Laughter and the Tears,” Olivia Newton-John “If Love is Real,” Bing Crosby “The Woman on My Arm” (the last song Crosby recorded before his death), and others, inclusive of Willie Nelson, Shirley Bassey, Jackie DeShannon, Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Kool & the Gang, and the list goes on endlessly.

Most recently Randy Edelman was invited as the sole representative of American composers for November’s Congressional Creative Caucus in Washington D.C. in celebration of the film “Gettysburg.” The focus of the discussions will be centered upon both copyright and piracy issues as they relate to artists in many diverse areas of entertainment. Randy will be releasing brand new music this fall and has just released a LIVE album highlighting his sold our performances in New York and London.

His upcoming film scores include Dutch director Ate De Jong’s Nashville saga “Heart Strings,” the family holiday caper “Athena Saves Christmas,” the exorcism horror themed “The Possession of Anne,” and the documentary “Too Hot to Handle.”

Based upon recommendations via a 25 member panel of experts, Career Bridges provides grants for coaching invoice, diction, language, repertory, and stage department. They continue to provide mentorship, evaluating and further grants for a period of three years.
