Josie Music Awards Proudly Presents Composer Randy Edelman with “THE SONGWRITER’S LEGEND AWARD”

The co-founders of The Josie Music Awards (the most prestigious and well-respected award in the indie music industry) Lady Tinamarie Passantino and Josie Passantino Boone announced on Saturday:

On October 27, 2024 at the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards at the Grand Ole Opry House we are proud to present Composer Randy Edelman with “THE SONGWRITER’S LEGEND AWARD.” They went on to say “Very few figures command as much respect and admiration as this legendary songwriter and music creator. With a career that spans decades, his work has touched the hearts and minds of millions around the globe. His timeless and universal melodies have become the soundtrack to countless lives. Randy Edelman’s profound influence in the music industry is undeniable, and his legacy inspires new generations of artists.”

Randy is a pop music Billboard charting composer having also created over 100 film and television scores including: My Cousin Vinny, Ghostbusters ll, Beethoven, The Mask, Gettysburg, Kindergarten Cop, XXX, 27 Dresses, Anaconda, While You We’re Sleeping, and Last of the Mohicans to name a few. As a song writer Randy has had his songs covered by Barry Manilow, Nelly, Patti LaBelle, The Carpenters, Olivia Newton-John, Dionne Warwick, Willie Nelson and an endless array of others. He has written themes for NASA and the Olympics as well.

Randy has accumulated multi-awards including an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts, the BMI Richard Kirk Lifetime Achievement Award, an Emmy, several BMI Awards for Top Grossing Films, and Top TV Series Award for MacGyver, a Golden Globe nomination for Last of the Mohicans, Induction to The New England Music Hall of Fame, Best Score by Los Angeles Film Awards, Get Out Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award, and the list continues to flourish. On May 7th, 2024 Randy will be accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Metropolitan Club from Career Bridges in NYC.

Randy Edelman is honored, proud and exhilarated to accept “The Songwriters Legend Award” from The Josie Music Awards. This year in celebration of their 10th Anniversary on October 26th, JMA will be presenting “Songwriter Achievement Awards” at the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. This will be followed on Sunday October 27th, 2024 by the Award ceremonies and performances at the Grand Ole Opry House, both in Nashville. Also being honored this year is Neal McCoy, and Tiffany.

The JMA awards for Independent Music proudly has the mission “to honor, recognize and reward excellence, outstanding talents, and remain focused on the creativity across the independent music industry. Every submission is carefully reviewed for consideration by an all pro panel of judges, since 2015. We have acknowledged all music genres and each one celebrated through one winner in each genre category. The Josie Music Awards has quickly grown to become the largest, and most recognized award organization in the independent music industry.
