Out today with the new single ‘Who Are You?’, the rising Yorkshire band have been building to this point throughout the year after signing to the leading Manchester label.

Singer Matt Hallas says… “A Spin Around The Sun is an overview of the life experiences we've been thrown into throughout the past year. It represents the broad range of emotions experienced during transition, whether it be loss, fear or excitement. This past year has been a rollercoaster.”

Initially a four-piece outfit, Glass Caves has since stripped down to the core members Matt and Elliot for this new era, whilst still enlisting the full band for live shows. Matt Continues… “This EP has been the first time Elliott and I have really been able to write music by ourselves, so we've taken that opportunity to explore areas we wouldn't have otherwise explored.”

Following on from the singles ‘Eye to Eye’, ‘Chasing A Feeling’ and ‘Float Into Space’, the new EP is a bold and brilliant statement, solidifying Glass Caves position as one of the best bands in the country - with their ever growing word of mouth following standing as a testament to the band’s attention to their grass roots approach.

About

About Glass Caves

Beginning their life busking on the streets of York, before heading to almost every corner of the UK, the band quickly amassed a loyal and devoted following, who appreciate their no-nonsense, back to basics brand of self-promotion.

Such was the strength of those first initial ripples, that they rapidly became waves, and the band quickly found themselves playing a headline Club NME at London's KOKO, The Great Escape, Dot to Dot, Isle Wight Festival, Reading & Leeds amongst countless other well-received dates that continue to cement their reputation as one of UK's best loved touring bands.

Not content with being on top of their live game alone however, the band's DIY roots and inexhaustible work ethic recently caught the attention of the BBC, who commissioned a Newsbeat documentary charting their rise from back-street buskers to major radio darlings, while their self-funded debut 'Alive' made Record Store Day's Top 40 at the time of its release.

‘A Spin Around The Sun’ is out now on Scruff of the Neck here.
