THE INTERNATIONALLY REVERED FESTIVAL RETURNS, BRINGING A CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE TO THE HEART OF ONE OF EUROPE’S MOST FORWARD-THINKING CITIES

Flow Festival Helsinki's iconic stage, Balloon 360°, renowned for its diverse and international lineup, has officially announced its program for this year's festival. Set to captivate audiences with a fusion of sounds from around the globe, the program promises an unforgettable weekend.

Kicking off on Friday, August 9, Grammy-winning singer, composer, and producer Arooj Aftab will grace the iconic stage. Aftab's acclaimed music seamlessly blends traditional Sufi, folk, electronic, Hindustani classical, and jazz influences. Joining her on Friday will be the electrifying Congolese ensemble KOKOKO!, whose infectious blend of electronic beats and traditional rhythms is sure to get the crowd moving. Critically acclaimed musician, producer, and DJ Nabihah Iqbal will also showcase her unique blend of hazy dream pop, post-punk attitude, and cerebral electronic sounds, offering audiences a mesmerising musical journey. Additionally, indie rock band The Holy, featuring a 10-member exclusive lineup, alongside drummer-producer Teppo Mäkynen's alias, The Stance Brothers, will take centre stage.

On Saturday, August 10, the Palestinian band 47SOUL, will grace the renowned Balloon 360° stage. Drawing inspiration from hip-hop, electronica, and R&B, they seamlessly blend these genres with the captivating rhythms of Dabke, a traditional folk dance, and other Shaabi roots music from the Levant region. Hailing from San Diego, Thee Sacred Souls are celebrated for their velvety groove, seamlessly blending the gentle elegance of 60s soul with the gritty allure of early 70s R&B. As one of the most sought-after soul bands today, they promise to deliver their irresistible sound to stage on Saturday. Joining them will be serpentwithfeet, one of the most exciting stars of experimental and alternative soul and R&B, as well as the Indonesian band Precious Bloom, known for their unique blend of Asian city-pop, new beat bass, and Indonesian disco melodies. Finnish acts Verneri Pohjola: Monkey Mind and Tinyhawk & Bizzarro will also contribute to Saturday's lineup.

Closing out the festival on Sunday, August 11, legendary Brazilian musician Marcos Valle will take centre stage. Valle, who celebrated his 80th birthday last year, is a true iconic master with music that transcends generations and cultures, celebrating the joy of life and rich Brazilian heritage. Joining him will be Artemas, whose single "if you think i'm pretty" has earned him acclaim in the alternative indie scene, and Another Taste, whose debut album release in March promises a groove-filled performance blending alternative disco, 70s funk, and boogie. Additionally the program will feature a diverse collection of top Finnish music, with saxophonist Timo Lassy and trumpeter Jukka Eskola's joint project Nordic Stew, Inginmaa/Hypnomen who released their album Maailma katoaa in January, and Selma Savolainen's Horror Vacui, recently awarded Jazz of the Year award at the Emma Gala (the Finnish Grammys), will grace the program with their presence.

These names join an already formidable programme of exciting boundary-breakers, influential icons, exhilarating and trail-blazing new talent and waiting-to-be-discovered game-changers, including the likes of Fred again.., Pulp, RAYE, The Smile, PJ Harvey, IDLES, Alvvays, Jessie Ware, Denzel Curry, Overmono, Blonde Redhead, Kenya Grace, Miriam Bryant, L'Imperatrice, Helena Hauff and Young Marco as well as celebrated Finnish talent such as ibe, Arppa presenting a special performance titled Arppa & Sunnuntain seireenit, Antti Autio offering an exclusive performance of his anticipated new album in full, Monkey Mind, Tinyhawk & Bizzarro and Joalin.
