The AA-side single, ‘Changing For You’ and ‘Soulwaves’ is the third release of 2020. A year which has seen this cross generational post punk outfit from Oldham, battle adversity, take on the pandemic and the constraints of lockdown, and emerge, still fighting, still writing their unique brand of honest intelligent post punk guitar music and firmly establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with and ones to watch for 2021.

‘Changing For You’ - Guitars weave a deep, mysterious multi-layered sonic wave that build to anthemic heights, a blinding earworm key change, intelligent lyrics and passionate coolly delivered vocals. This is a new side to Stepford Wives, not afraid to push sonic boundaries, confidently delivered with a killer punch. Refreshing to see a band can make changes to their sound and stay true to their core ideas and roots. “Great lyrics. Power and strength come across in the words and music. Just the thing to hear on a cold dark wet morning when you need some motivation!”

‘Soulwaves’ – Staccato metallic guitars, enveloped with grinding driving bass underpinned with dark, doom laden drums. The sublime dark mood, illuminated with a bright, melancholic mocking vocal. This is a sonic depiction of decay and urban blight, countered with an uplifting, exploding, gang-like tribal chorus. ‘Soulwaves’ is a rousing climax to what is an accomplished seminal EP from this post punk outfit.
