NYC’s spacey-sweet outfit Denim Dan took pop-rock interstellar in their seminal LP, No Guarantee

Spacey 60s pop and mellifluous 70s rock converge in the evocatively centered seminal LP “No guarantee” from the NYC prodigal sons that form Denim Dan. The band stayed true to their original sound that spawned at their outset in 1996; each track delivers cosmically sweet nostalgic bliss, especially the title single.

The title single starts with the Dylan-Esque minimalist intricate finger-picked guitar notes before the warmth of the keys flood the release with Bowie-meets-The-Beatles-style vibes and the vocals share their devil may care attitude that becomes infectious before the spacey chorus hits.

Denim Dan was originally formed in Boulder, Colorado in 1996 through a shared love of Bob Dylan, Steely Dan, The Beatles and Ricky Nelson. Their debut album, Your Foreign Town, was released in 1999, was followed by the sophomore LP, No Lies in Blue Skies in 2018, and their most recent album, no Guarantee, in 2020.

In their current formation, Denim Dan is Michael Halitzer [aka] Denim Dan (guitar and vocals), Dave Gellis (electric guitar), Gordon Kent (keys), Mike Nirack and Joe Nuecome (bass), and Lorenzo Crescibene (drums).

Their 2022 plans include the release of their “Denim Dan Meets Dylan” tribute to coincide with the opening of the Bob Dylan Museum in Tulsa and the release of their upcoming album, 3AM.
