Few tracks succinctly capture the complexity of emotions that exist in a romantic dynamic, but Ron A.P.’s latest single, The Ex-Files, is the visceral multi-faceted exception.

The atmospheric trap-tinted alt hip hop beats created a solid platform for Ron A.P.’s consistently shifting vocal energy as he blazes through the lyricism that leaves no scorned stone unturned.

Giving his sound a unique edge is the core reflections of blues and jazz in the lyricism paired with his juxtaposition between East Coast old school and new wave hip hop in the instrumentals that were recorded in his home studio and produced by John Camp.

Ron A.P. said:

“This release is a part of an upcoming EP that tells a story about a bad relationship. Each song goes through the stages of the relationship. The Ex-Files is the song that depicts the mixed feelings people get when they have ended a relationship.

I created the track after I decided to break up with my ex-girlfriend because she was too high-strung and dramatic.”

Amelia Vandergast, Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

The intellect went far beyond the meta title to The Ex-Files. Ron A.P. is clearly on a home run with his heavy-hitting, soul-deep, and lyrically bold hip hop tracks.
