Pure sonic soul flows through the collaborative 11-track album, Feel It, from the Portuguese producer MDMelo and Nigerian vocalist Francis, which dropped in May 2022.

The title single is a testament to the collaborative chemistry; atop the luxe full-bodied funk grooves, Francis’ vocal timbre brings you deeper into the euphonic textures. Other standout hits from the album include Want You and Your Love.

Want You teases playful 80s synth-pop nuances over the hard, rhythmically arresting kicks while Francis unleashes the full power of his deeply evocative vocal dynamism. Your Love will easily enamour any fans of Nile Rodger-style guitar chops, which pop alongside the sonorously tender vocal lines and blissful beat. Spell on Me is well worth a spin for the sheer production artistry that oozes through the indie-pop inclinations and Gospel-Esque vocal accordance from Francis

MDMelo said:

“Feel It, featuring Francis, is a breakthrough for me; it was a long-term project which focuses on production, composition, harmony, groove and sonics. My main objective is to make sure that Francis gets the notoriety he deserves; he transformed my music world."

Amelia Vandergast, Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“Feel It marries old school soul with new-age electronic grooves in an infectious fashion that will never go out of trend. Words scarcely cover the vibrant energy in the zest of sonic power of the lead single. As the title suggests, you’ve gotta feel it yourselves.”

About

For MDMelo, it all started at age 15 in 1980 with the first touch of two cassette decks and a mixer; three years later, he was resident DJ in the infamous club, D. Pedro. In time, he built a small studio containing self-built amps and speakers. In 1985, he moved to America for a sound engineering course; he later obtained an electronics degree from Cambridge in the UK. Upon moving back to Portugal, he focused on his professional career and set up an electronics consultancy company.

In 2016, he caught the music bug again after resuming his role as a DJ; today, he runs a video game company and produces music. After two successful singles, he released his Too Late Now EP in 2021, which went down a storm in Ibiza.

Following the EP, MDMelo focused on his collaborative venture with Francis, who found his vocal skill in a children’s choir at a young age and never relented in his bid for creative expression, which flowed through his literary skills and music writing. In 2016, he started to work on music full time and collaborated with artists around the globe before finding the ultimate collaborator in MDMelo.
