Detroit solo artist, Anthony J Fink, is fresh from the release of his 5-track EP, Feel the Rain, which takes the listener on a journey of loss, turmoil, and recovery, to the tune of visceral rock anthemics, singer-songwriter candour and 70s piano pop.

With the ivories struck just as eloquently as in Elton John’s most powerful work, the vocals which caress the line between Springsteen and Lady Gaga, and the massive production, which rivals the multi-layered ingenuity of Muse, Feel the Rain is an enrapturing extension of compassion, amplified by the raw instrumental talent and polished production.

The pop-rock momentum of Road Trip opens the EP on an anthemic-ballad note before Steady Unknown exhibits Fink’s tenacity as a singer-songwriter; the folky elements and ethereally bright arrangements are nothing short of transcendent.

Track 3, Together, brings gospel nuances into the mix, in the same vein as Hozier, before things get a little baroque in Masquerade with the cut of the classical strings and histrionic synths. Saving the most revelationary for last, the title single pulls the EP together with a tight-knit Guns n Roses meets Alice in Chains rock gravitas.

Anthony J Fink said:

Feel the Rain touches on many things. Loss is a big focus. My parents passed away when I was very young due to alcohol addiction. I have struggled with relationships in general in my life and with addiction. This coming January, I will be alcohol-free for four years.

Amelia Vandergast, the Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“The Feel the Rain EP made an essential artist out of Anthony J Fink, especially for any rock-inclined seekers of sonic guidance through our vapidly trying times. Buy it. It’s cheaper than therapy.”

About

Anthony J Fink was born a passionate performer. He started his performative journey as a dancer at a young age before being enveloped by the world of musical theatre and studying classical music.

He is a classically trained vocalist and pianist through his attendance at Western Michigan University. Although, when the open road started calling, and he got an opportunity to tour with a classic rock cover band, he took it before establishing himself as a solo artist with his own material.

Throughout his solo career, which has seen him performing at Saint Andrew's Hall Detroit and Motor City Pride Festival 2022, Fink has remained committed to consoling his listeners and spreading awareness of addiction, depression, and suicide.

His debut came in the form of his 2015 EP, Tonight, and he has remained a prolific singer-songwriter since. His latest EP, Feel the Rain, was officially released on July 1st.
