For his latest single, which is set to help him hit the 1 million streams mark, the Virginia Beach trap artist, Tea Sea, collaborated with producers placerbeatz and marni boy to create a determination-driven emo rap anthem.

The River was written for anyone who has tried to make it only to see how many people want the exact opposite for you; the melodically high-fire hit is the ultimate middle finger to the haters. While the electronica instrumentals add a cinematic dystopian flare, the rap bars grind through the juicy fluid hooks that easily ensnare you into Tea Sea’s fiery charisma.

The River, which was recorded at Aesthete Recording Studio in Maryland, will release worldwide on all streaming platforms on October 14th, 2022.

For fans of XXXTENTACION, Juice WRLD and Lil Uzi Vert

Tea Sea said:

“It is all about respect, really. It also explores the hunger for success and the determination to not take no for an answer when people stand in the way of your career goals and attempt to derail them.

I have been writing songs for over 12 years, and I have always had that mindset throughout my journey. This instrumental was made by two producers overseas who are at the grindstone endlessly trying to realize their full potential too.”

Amelia Vandergast, Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“With his killer cadence, dynamite vocal dynamism, and determination to connect with the disillusioned and disenfranchised with his music, Tea Sea’s music grips you with a rare veracity that makes it easy to see why he’s garnering so much hype. The River may just be his most viscerally fresh track to date.”

About

I was just a bored, sixteen-year-old sophomore in high school looking to impress a few of my friends and get some attention from the girls. I am naturally introverted, but I have always feared being overlooked and ignored, which saw me develop a workaholic, perfectionist mentality that has propelled me forward for years.

It has been twelve long years of struggles, doubts and working odd jobs to survive in a cutthroat economy and achieve my dream. I performed under two or three less memorable stage names before I settled on Tea Sea a couple of years ago. Once that formal identity was established internally, I achieved the cohesion I desired in my melodies and song structure externally because I knew what type of artist I wanted to be.

Now, I want to connect with listeners around the globe and be a voice for the melancholy, lonely people who suffer in silence because they feel like they don't have one.

Under this moniker, my debut LP, Take Ten, was released in 2020, followed by nine singles and a 2022 EP. I have accrued over 975,000 streams on my tracks between Spotify and SoundCloud. I know I can hit 1 million before the year ends with my new single, The River, which drops a few days before the first anniversary of my independent record label, Lagoon Records.
