After their 1996 debut, the New York City folk-pop-rock originators, Denim Dan, are in melodiously-revelationary form once again with their sixth studio album, This Way, That Way, The Other Way.

The Jazzy nuances sit neatly with the psychedelic hues spilling from the keys and the college radio rock vocal attitude, which makes every lyric in this 12-track exploration of culture and identity a groove-steady trip back to the 70s that you will want to take time and time again.

This Way, That Way, The Other Way was recorded at Luna Sound with Lorenzo Crescibene in New Jersey and officially released on April 15 across all major streaming platforms.

Denim Dan said:

"This Way, That Way, The Other Way is our sixth studio album. A non-fiction coming-of-age narration of loosely factual true events from my time in New Mexico in the mid 1970s. The title track and first four songs were written in Florence, Italy during the pandemic when I felt inspired to write about my experiences of four decades earlier. The next eight songs - also written about that period - including Let Your Love Fall Down On Me [too] were recorded in 2001 right after 911 in Boulder, Colorado. They were forgotten...but my son, Marcello, found them in an old computer.”

Amelia Vandergast, the Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“There are few things as sonically sweet as coming-of-age tales after decades of retrospect. The kaleidoscopically honeyed soundscapes in This Way, That Way, The Other Way allows you to cruise right back to the 70s while allowing your perceptions to shift around the pearls of wanderlust wisdom.”

About

My earliest influence was my uncle, Bernard Cohen, a classical guitarist. He was friends with Andrés Segovia, a Spanish virtuoso classical guitarist. In the 1950s and 1960s, I used to watch the family show, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet; at the end of the show, one of the two sons would play a song, and I just felt it doesn’t get any better than that.

At the same time, Bob Dylan’s Blowin’ in the Wind came out, so I started learning guitar; while studying, the American folk and blues artist Tom Rush became a major influence. He ushered in the era of the singer-songwriter. He helped Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, James Taylor and others gain recognition early in their careers.

My band, Denim Dan, formed in Boulder, Colorado, in 1996. Our debut album, Your Foreign Town, was released in 1999 on Orchard Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music. After the release of our latest EP, in the winter of 2023, we plan on releasing Santa Maria's Dome.
