Earlier this week, a series of unexpected posts coming from BMG’s @BMG_News Twitter account caused a flurry of excitement across Louis Tomlinson fans.

The first tweet, dated October 19, garnered over 200 retweets and 2,278 likes, with additional posts continuing in the early hours of Friday, October 22. The tweets, which have since been deleted, consisted of variations of “Testing,” followed by BMG’s account details.

Fans were quick to find connections as to what it could mean – whether teasing the name of a new single ‘Error 404. Happiness Found’, a potential release date for Louis’ new music, or some hoped it hinted towards the possibility of a collaboration between newly signed multi-platinum pop/rock band 5 Seconds of Summer and the One Directioner.

So, what’s the explanation? “It was actually a technical glitch caused by testing a new feature on our website,” said a BMG spokesperson. “We’re sorry to all the fans for getting your hopes up! But, we are happy to see you are just as excited as we are to have the first taste of new music. Stay tuned, besties!”
