BMG artists occupy two of the Top 5 positions in the Official UK Albums Charts this week, marking another milestone for BMG’s recordings business in the UK.

Heading the tally are alt-J at number three with The Dream. The album also reached Number One on the Independent Albums Chart, number two on the Scottish Albums Chart, and number two on the Vinyl Albums Chart. Dubbed a “masterpiece” by Rolling Stone, the album has received four star reviews across the board and is also the highest new entry in the Albums Streaming Chart.

The British indie trio are followed by Slash ft. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators at number five with their latest album 4. Following a solid decade into their career, the new album builds on the legacy of the groups’ previous work and marks Slash’s fifth solo album and fourth overall with his band featuring Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass & vocals), and Frank Sidoris (guitar & vocals).

Alistair Norbury, BMG President Repertoire & Marketing UK, said, “Landing two albums in the UK Top 5 is an incredible achievement for the team. The Dream is a landmark release for alt-J and for BMG. Their number three spot is a fantastic start for the project. Likewise, the success of Slash’s new album. Not only is 4 his first release with BMG, but also the first fruits of our new relationship with Gibson Records.”

Meanwhile, celebrating a new entry in the UK Singles Chart is Wilkinson with ‘Here For You’ featuring Becky Hill at number 43, their long-awaited collaboration, nine years after they first teamed up on smash hit 'Afterglow'. Wilkinson’s collaboration with Issey Cross, ‘Used To This’, climbed up to number 44.
