Brit-pop stars Suede return have released their long-awaited new studio album Autofiction via BMG, marking the band’s first album since expanding their global partnership with BMG in 2021,

Ed Buller, the band’s longtime producer, is back after being absent for the band's last album. Ed first worked with the band producing their debut single ‘The Drowners’.

Upon the lead-up to the album's release, the group shared three singles ‘She Still Leads Me On' an introspective song written by Brett to his late mother, '15 Again' and 'That Boy On The Stage'.

Speaking on the release of the latest single, enigmatic frontman Brett Anderson said "The one place we have always felt at home is the stage. You step on there and you know what to do. It is entirely magical. It’s what 'That Boy on the Stage' is about."

The track follows the release of AUTOFICTION: A Short Film, directed by Katie Lambert (MrMr Films) and created in collaboration with Suede.

After two acclaimed documentaries (Mike Christie’s The Insatiable Ones for Sky Arts and BBC Four’s Rock Family Trees), along with approaching the 30th anniversary of debut single ‘The Drowners’, Autofiction is Suede looking forward as they enter the next phase of their existence.

Speaking about the album, Anderson said: "Autofiction is our punk record. No whistles and bells. Just the five of us in a room with all the glitches and fuck-ups revealed; the band themselves exposed in all their primal mess."

Autofiction is the group's ninth studio album and first since 2018’s UK Top 5 charting album The Blue Hour.

Suede are set to perform two special intimate shows in promotion of the album at London’s Electric Ballroom in October 2022, more live dates are soon to be announced.
