Daniel Johns’ sophomore solo album FutureNever has again hit Number One on the ARIA Albums Chart, a record-breaking 22 weeks since it first secured the top spot on May 14.

Following its release April 22, FutureNever debuted at number two in Australia before climbing to Number One in its third week. After 22 weeks, the album has again dominated the charts due to its vinyl release, resulting in the biggest interim between stays at the chart summit for an album by an Australian artist.

Johns said: “To have FutureNever go to Number One on the ARIA Albums Chart twice in 2022 and spend 6 weeks in the ARIA Top 10 is amazing. For an album with no singles and no music videos, I’m truly grateful that the music is speaking for itself.”

FutureNever has become the only Australian album to spend two weeks at Number One this year. This record-breaking chart run comes off the back of Daniel’s ARIA Award nomination for Best Solo Artist.

Johns’ innovative and creative campaign has been a pivotal driver behind the incredible success the album has achieved so far.

Accompanying the album, Johns’ released semi-autobiographical featurette What If The Future Never Happened?, a three-part docuseries, Inside the Mind of Daniel Johns, and his critically acclaimed exhibition Past, Present & FutureNever in Melbourne, which is now extended until 23 December.
