BMG publishing client Lewis Capaldi has scored his fourth UK Number One with his latest single ‘Pointless’.

‘Pointless’, co-written by Ed Sheeran, is the second single released from Capaldi’s forthcoming album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, due for release in May.

Speaking to the Official Charts Company, Capaldi said: “Thank you so much if you streamed, downloaded, or listened to 'Pointless' in any way.” Capaldi continued; “The support has been incredible. It really means a lot. I know there’s a cost of living crisis, so thank you for spending your money on my music.”

Capaldi previously topped the charts with ‘Someone You Loved’ and ‘Before You Go’, taken from his 2019 debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.

The singer-songwriter again took the Number One spot with 2022’s ‘Forget Me’, securing a 2023 BRIT Awards nomination in the Song Of The Year category.

With 2023 shaping up to be another big year for the Scottish hitmaker, Capaldi announced he is set to headline UK's Reading & Leeds Festivals. BMG, partnered with Pulse and Quickfire Films, is set to release Capaldi’s debut feature-length documentary film in 2023.
