OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
NEWS PROVIDED BY
Singer, songwriter, and producer, Bobby Chaniel is back with his newest single, “Hot Topic,” and its accompanying music video.
A true EDM banger, “Hot Topic” brings infectious positivity and a transformational aura with comparisons between Bobby Chaniel’s artistic journey and the changing seasons. It’s a fitting message considering the bold step Chaniel took with his recent EP, “Chosen Angels.” Continuing the trend of that project, “Hot Topic” also favors a robust hyperpop soundscape.
Bobby Chaniel has been keeping busy with more than just his music. He’s also been organizing and hosting live music shows throughout New York City, each featuring a curated lineup of some of NYC’s finest underground hyperpop producers and vocalists.
The success of these shows directly influenced the creation of “Hot Topic.” Lyrically, this track is about celebrating yourself, shaking off the rust, and proving that the best is yet to come. The theme pairs perfectly with the saturated bass, elated synths, and crazy beat drops. It all comes together to create a feel-good vibe that sticks with you.
The “Hot Topic” music video, produced by Dir. Mickey, is full of vibrant and flashy visuals. It follows Chaniel and fellow artist, Yung Blasian, as they party across New York. Fittingly, they make a pitstop at a Hot Topic store to try on some apparel. This video is a perfect fit for the track and is proof of Bobby Chaniel’s dedication to pushing the quality of his craft.
Following the release of “Hot Topic,” Chaniel is also set to drop a companion music video. Full of vibrant and flashy visuals, the video was shot by Dir. Mickey and features their psychedelic VFX art. It follows Chaniel and fellow artist, Yung Blasian, as they make their way to the Queens Center Mall. Fittingly, they stop at a Hot Topic store to try on some apparel. This video is a perfect fit for the track and is sure to please Chaniel’s fans and other lovers of hyperpop.
Bobby Chaniel is a hip-hop and hyperpop artist from Queens, NY. A classically trained vocalist and pianist, he began releasing singles and instrumentals in 2018 while studying music at college. In 2019, he published his debut hip-hop mixtape, “The Birth of Bobby Chaniel,” which featured popular singles such as “Cartier” and “My Bag.” Chaniel’s sound has since evolved over the years to become more electronic-focused, but his pop, hip-hop, and even classical influences still resonate in his music. He also produces under the name 808Chan and can be found hosting live shows featuring underground hyperpop talent all over NYC.
