Bakray was recently longlisted for Most Promising Newcomer by the British Independent Film Awards, after being plucked from her school classroom to star as the lead character in Sarah Gavron’s Rocks, one of 2020’s most acclaimed films, and was also announced as a 2020 BAFTA Breakthrough talent.

She will star as the central character Maddie in Greenwood's latest mental health film 'Self-Charm'. The film will follow a young teen who is struggling with self-harm and so is recommended multiple alternatives by a therapist but each to no avail. The next suggestion she receives is to care for a plant as if it’s herself.

Greenwood made her first short film 'Faulty Roots' aged 18. It was nominated for Best Script by Film The House which is run by Parliament and sponsored by Disney, Warner Bros, Lionsgate & more. The short has been praised for promoting awareness of teenage mental health, with UK Film Review saying that in the film “these massive issues are addressed in the most quiet and compassionate way possible… with normality and understanding”. It premiered at Busan International Kids & Youth Film festival and was been selected for many others across the globe including Tallgrass Film Festival at which it won an award and BAFTA Qualifying Bolton International Film Festival. Greenwood is also an ambassador for teen mental health charity stem4 and is campaigning for better representation of mental health in the media.

Greenwood’s Broken Flames Productions will produce the film, with Tallulah Films (“Little Miss Sumo”) as co-producer, and Karina Michel Feld as executive producer. Broken Flames Productions is building a slate of mental health based projects, including the upcoming “Faulty Roots,” Greenwood’s debut feature, which is an adaptation of the original short, with Melanie Walters (“Gavin & Stacey”) and Kayleigh-Paige Rees (“Sanditon”).
