Harry Collett, who recently starred in Universal Pictures’ ‘Doolittle’ alongside Robert Downey Jr will lead Broken Flames’ ‘Why Wouldn’t I Be?’ in support of the mental health charity & platform HUMEN.

Also starring are Elizabeth Berrington (The Nevers), Tut Nyuot (Small Axe) and theatre veteran Susan Lawson-Reynolds.

Written and directed by Ella Greenwood, the short focuses on male depression. It is the next film in Broken Flames Production’s slate of mental health-based projects, following ‘Self-Charm’ which stars BAFTA Nominee Bukky Bakray, and ‘Smudged Smile’ which stars ‘Get Even’s’ Mia Mckenna-Bruce. Their first short ‘Faulty Roots’ is being developed into a feature in partnership with Social Impact Agency TerraMedia. Greenwood is the Founder of Broken Flames and is a 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree.

Collett will play Jack, a 17-year-old who hits breaking point and questions why he wasn’t able to reach out for help.

Best known for ‘Dollittle’, Collett’s credits include Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dunkirk’ and as a regular in the BBC hit ‘Casualty’.

The film will be in support of HUMEN, a mental health charity leading a movement to improve and maintain men's mental health through The HUMEN Space - anonymous and non-clinical spaces for men to talk, listen and connect on a regular basis.

Already appreciating the impact of the media, a previous project of HUMEN is The HUMEN Series, a five-part documentary featuring men from all walks of life alongside Bill Nighy, Andrew Scott, Danny Cipriani, David Gandy and more.

Greenwood says, ‘I’m so excited for Harry to be on board, he’s a wonderful actor who will help us to share this important message on mental health, and that we get to do this in support of HUMEN.’

Lucas Ferrara joins Greenwood as producer, with Molly McNamara-Langton and Maya Bartley O’Dea as co-producers.
