Renowned for her emotive vocals, honest lyrics, and catchy indie-pop melodies, 25-year-old singer-songwriter and BRIT School Graduate Kitty is set to captivate audiences once again with the release of her latest single, "Sympathy Pains". This dynamic track is the spotlight of Kitty's personal second EP, 'Swimming for Dummies', set to be unleashed upon the world in May 2024.

Hailing from Dublin but raised in the vibrant heart of London, Kitty has artfully blended soulful influences from the likes of Lianne La Havas with a quirky pop sound reminiscent of Lily Allen's early work. Her introspective lyrics provide a candid and humorous window into the life of a young, queer woman navigating the trials and tribulations of love, friendship, and self-discovery.

At the tender age of 19, Kitty released her first EP, 'Nights’, featuring fan favorites like '4 Days 4 Nights' and 'Girlfriend’. Her distinctive style and romantic melodies, encouraging fans to live authentically and unapologetically as themselves, quickly gained recognition with '4 Days 4 Nights' from BBC Introducing London. Her single ‘4 Days 4 Nights’ landed on Spotify's UK Viral Top 50 Playlist, Spanish Viral Top 50 Playlist and Lyric Therapy.

Kitty's artistic journey began during her time at The BRIT School, where she studied alongside talents such as Jade Bird, Olivia Dean and GRACEY. While her education enriched her understanding of the music industry, it was also during this time that Kitty lost herself, prompting her to take a step back from releasing music to rediscover her signature indie-pop sound.

During her hiatus, Kitty immersed herself in songwriting and collaborations within the music industry, boasting songwriting credits on Rowan Flack's 'Tipsy on the Tongue’. She also ventured into toplining and achieved success with Higgo's remix of Cortese's 'Wild Enough' featured on Kiss Radio.

With her upcoming EP, 'Swimming for Dummies’, Kitty is set to embark on a new musical chapter. She spent the past few years curating a sound that preserves the essence of her original music, blending her distinctive, introspective lyrics with fresh indie-pop arrangements. The EP reflects the growth and development that accompanies the transition into adulthood, likening the journey to learning to swim with no instructions. “Going through your 20s is kind of like learning to swim with no instructions” she says.

Kitty's collaboration with producer Jules Konieczny, known for his work with Tom Grennan and Everything Everything, has brought her new sound to life, incorporating unconventional production influences drawn from her love of TV and film.

Talking about her new track “Sympathy Pains”, Kitty shares:

"This song marks a new beginning for me and my music, with a sound I created with my producer, Jules Konieczny, that feels like my personality in a song, so I'm really proud of it! I wrote it about a friend who was leaning on me like a therapist so much that it started to impact my own mental health, which is when the words 'sympathy pains' came to me. When I brought the idea to my good friend and co-writer, Francesca Morris, the song just started flowing," Kitty said of her latest single, "Sympathy Pains."

As Kitty's career continues to soar, "Sympathy Pains" stands as a testament to her artistic evolution, providing a glimpse into her forthcoming EP's unique blend of indie-pop and insightful storytelling. With a sound that's unmistakably hers, Kitty's music will undoubtedly resonate with a wide and diverse audience.
