NOCT, the brainchild of 23-year-old music producer Noor Harajli, just returned with her latest track titled "Everything is Ripe". Hailing from Brazil and Lebanon, and now based in London, Noor's eclectic fusion of 2000s alternative-indie sounds and bossa nova rhythms is captivating audiences worldwide.
Following the success of NOCT's debut album 'Keep an Eye Out' in 2021 and subsequent releases like 'There is a Peak' in 2022 and 'listen very closely' in 2023, "Everything is Ripe" promises to delve deeper into the psyche of NOCT's distinctive musical landscape.

The track tells the tale of someone going through an apathetic, hopeless episode in life. It's about feeling trapped in a repetitive rut–– one that takes a toll on your mental and physical space, ripening your brain with every cycle. With time passing by, it also feels like there is an urgency to experience your youth before it escapes you, which can add a lot of pressure to those especially in their early to mid 20s. While we're enduring all this, we also observe the world around us falling apart and seemingly ripen with time. By the end of it all, your mind feels like mush. Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, NOCT crafts a narrative that resonates with the struggles of today's youth, grappling with the urgency to seize fleeting moments of youthfulness amidst the chaos of life's uncertainties.

"''Everything is Ripe' began as a jingle I used to hum when driving around my city at night. I'd cruise around to pass the time, and I found my thoughts doing the same– just wandering aimlessly. I would reflect on my life, my experiences, the redundancy of my routine, and the dismay of feeling unaccomplished. Looking ahead at the road, alone, meant that I was not distracted by, for instance, a screen or a friend. I feel like we often overlook the value of letting our mind wander.", says Noor Harajli, the creative force behind NOCT.

Recorded at Danny Monk's studio in Baker Street and expertly mixed and mastered by Monk himself, "Everything is Ripe" showcases NOCT's evolution as a musician. Noor's deliberate production choices, influenced by a diverse array of musical genres ranging from punk to bossa nova, infuse the track with a raw energy that reverberates through every chord and lyric.

"I believe songwriting should always remain a personal experience– I find myself experiencing the song with more emotion when I think back to how my notebook felt in my hands, and how the pen felt when I'd write down all these goals that I'd dream of accomplishing. Once I realized I wrote a song about the decay I see and experience in my life, it felt like some sort of self-therapy process – acknowledging my own ripeness let me throw out the fruit and harvest new ones", adds NOCT.
