'Ancient Rome' is collage of half remembered facts from school history lessons, Wikipedia wormholing and a general fascination in the unreliability of popular history. 'Ancient Rome' was the first track Todger wrote for the upcoming album, 'Seas Of Old'. They really wanted to create a big dumb rock song, after releasing their more progy 2016 album, 'Arbiters Of Blame', but their penchant for the pretentious won.

'Ancient Rome' was recorded, mixed and mastered by Christian in his home studio, The Cynic's Folly, in late 2019. Its the first track from their upcoming album, 'Seas Of Old', due Summer 2021. This was the bands first attempt at a completely home-made studio album and formed part of a year long journey learning sound engineering, mixing, mastering and an unholy amount of Youtube tutorial videos.
