Kodah started writing poetry and stories from a young age. She picked up a guitar when she was about 11 began trying to write songs. In high school, Kodah started recording and producing her own music. Kodah main influences are The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Gregory Alan Isakov, Scissor Sisters, Shakey Graves, Imogen Heap, and The Doors.
