Taking applications until January 25, Help Musicians' Transmission Fund (https:// Previous awardee, composer Ruta Vitkauskaite, spent time this year learning the business side of her craft with popular Scottish composer and mentor Matthew Whiteside, ultimately leading to the release of her next album. She said: “It was a life changer to receive this funding and up-skill myself for this unusual period we all live in! Just a few months ago I got support from Help Musicians and had a fantastic mentoring with Matthew Whiteside about self-releasing online. As a direct result of this support, I was able to release my new album.” Offering financial help up to £1,500, Transmission can support musicians to progress an online course in sound production or mixing and mastering, attend a virtual masterclass with a specialist in their field, attend those all-important music theory lessons, or allow them to connect with a musical mentor who will shape their future. Available to emerging and professional musicians of all genres and disciplines, you can be an instrumentalist, composer, producer, conductor, vocalist or singer- songwriter etc. Transmission can also support bands or ensembles consisting of six members or less. We understand that filling out application forms is not for everyone and that’s why we offer all musicians an option to submit an application by video too.
