Cheryl Cole slams Superdrug celebrity weight comparison scales

Cheryl Cole has expressed her "shock" and disgust at being part of a celebrity comparison weight comparison scale that was due to be trialled by Superdrug.

The retailer were due to launch scales that included the weights of a number of celebrities, allowing the user to compare themselves to the stars.

The product was widely criticised and the chemist has now confirmed that it won't be trialling the product anymore.

Cheryl Cole - who was one of the celebrities set to feature in the scales, along with the likes of Rihanna and Gemma Collins - tweeted her disgust and asked Superdrug to never include her name in the scales should they be made.

The singer tweeted: "...Pls do not include me on your scale. Girls should be worried about the number on their exam page not a weight scale ffs."

Speaking in a statement about their U-turn, Superdrug said: "We created a prototype set of celebrity scales to move the conversation away from weight being perceived as a number, and we want to recognise that everyone is different. However, we've listened carefully to all our customers' comments and can assure them that the prototype celebrity scales will not be trialled in our stores."
