JLo: 'Going through divorce in the public eye adds that extra bit of ouch'

Jennifer Lopez has revealed that divorcing ex-husband Marc Anthony was made that much harder by having to do it with the whole world watching.

During a new interview with HuffPost Live about her new book, 'True Love', today (November 4), the superstar admitted that accepting her 'marriage was falling apart' meant that she could start working on trying to move forward and push through it all:

"Everything from the outside seemed perfect, but the truth was, in that moment, my marriage was falling apart and ... I was terrified that that realisation was occurring to me. Like, 'This is not working. I'm not happy. This is not good. What do I do? I have these two small children.' It was so tormenting and anybody who's gone through it knows that. And then going through it in the public eye just adds that little bit of extra ouch."

JLo's book was released earlier this morningand in it she opens up about struggling with getting yourself through the tough parts of life: "It's the messy parts of life that make us human, so we should embrace them too - pat ourselves on the back for getting through them rather than being angry for having gotten into them."

"Part of loving yourself is about forgiving yourself - which is something I've always struggled with. Being ambitious, being a perfectionist, means I've spent my life beating myself up for not being good enough, or for screwing something up.
