Katy Perry insists Rihanna collaboration talk is "genuine"

Katy Perry has reiterated that a mooted collaboration with Rihanna is a genuine prospect.

The 'Part Of Me' singer told MTV that the pair aren't just "shooting the s**t" with regards to the possible blockbuster collaboration.

Both camps have previously spoken of their desire to work together in the future, although Perry has issued some words of caution regarding its potential to be somewhat anticlimactic. She said:

"I've always wanted to and she's always wanted to and that's very genuine. We're not just shooting the s**t. We're not, like, just kind of beating around the bush."

She added: "We really want to. It's just that I think it's gotten to such a head that if we do something that's not the greatest, it's going to be so anticlimactic. So we've already thought about it."

As previously reported, Katy Perry has just released the video for her new single 'Part Of Me', which sees the singer don army gear and cut her hair.
