Emeli Sandé "extremely flattered" by Whitney Houston comparisons

Emeli Sandé has said she is "extremely flattered" by comparisons between her and the late Whitney Houston.

Speaking to Spinner, Sandé commented on people who link herself to the great Whitney Houston because of their styles.

She said: "I'm extremely flattered. [Houston had] such a distinctive voice, I hope I have that as well."

The Scottish singer and songwriter also spoke about the music industry, suggesting there are too many people in the business for reasons other than the music. She said:

"There are lots of people who aren't in it for the music, which is a real shame, but when you get the right team around you, people that are really passionate about music, it's a great industry to work in. I feel very successful at doing something I love and I can make a living out of it. Not many people can do what they love in life."
