Cheryl Cole: "The Queen wanted to stand next to me at Jubilee gig"

Cheryl Cole has claimed that the Queen chose to stand next to her on stage at the recent Diamond Jubilee Concert.

Cole performed at the gig on Monday (June 4), singing a special duet with the event's organiser Gary Barlow.

As the Queen took to the stage at the end of the concert for Prince Charles' speech, Cole was positioned right next to Her Majesty and regularly appeared on screen as a result.

However, speaking on the Graham Norton show, Cole said it was at the Queen's request. She said:

"I did not know I was on camera until I came off stage. They stood us in line and then they brought the Queen out, but she wanted to stand next to me."
