Although Britney Spears is thoroughly enjoying her role as a judge on X Factor USA she admitted that taking part in the new season of American Idol would have been amazing.

Speaking to Zap2It, Spears revealed that she would "have loved" to fill one of the empty seats on the panel after Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced their decisions to leave the show: "I would have loved that."

Despite this new admission, the 'Till The World Ends' superstar added that the dynamic between the X Factor USA judges is fantastic and she's having a great time using her experience to coach contestants:

"I feel like [my arrival] brings a whole new energy to the show, definitely. Nicole and Paula were really great, but to have such a dramatic change, I'll bet this even made Simon and L.A. nervous."

"That was what they had been used to, then these two new girls come in. I don't know how it'll be perceived, but it's been fun for us. I've been having a blast."
