Tre Holloway's mother insists her son isn't planning to propose to Cheryl Cole just yet.

Much speculation has surrounded Cole's love life since her romance with backing dancer Holloway was made public last year.

Reports last weekend suggested that the pair are set to tie the knot after Cole's father gave Holloway permission to ask his daughter to marry him.

However, the dancer's mother, Shirley Holloway, has revealed her smitten son is yet to think about walking down the aisle with the Girls Aloud beauty.

She told The Sun: “Everyone may be desperate for them to get married but as soon as he’s even thinking about it, I will know — and I know he isn’t. Tre loves her but he isn’t about to rush things and propose. There is no marriage coming. Tre hasn’t called her dad and asked permission to propose. They are happy how they are.”

She added: "I’ve met Cheryl and liked her. She’s been through a lot but she is a really lovely person. Cheryl would make a great daughter-in-law — but it’s not happening any time soon.”

Last week, Cole slammed the marriage rumours, labelling them "corny and pathetic".
