New York, NY (November 10th, 2023) – Today, NYC based alt-pop artist Nicolas McCoppin unveiled his stunning sophomore project mind motel. With a mission to create space for himself in pop music, McCoppin offers a fresh perspective on the timeless genre. His catalog is characterized by deeply personal storytelling mixed with an impressive vocal ability and songs that are as emotionally impactful as they are danceable - with a razor sharp aesthetic sensibility and partnerships with fashion houses like Moschino Couture tying the project together. 2021-22 was a standout year for McCoppin, with an official US radio debut of his single "Heaven". The track entered Mediabase’s US Pop/Top 40 radio chart at #40 in June of 2021 and continued to climb charts each week with rave reviews from station programmers across the US. McCoppin’s career quickly skyrocketed with a distribution deal with AWAL that boosted his online fanbase and cultivated over 850,000 worldwide streams on his debut EP, "Loverboy". The EP was featured on a billboard in Times Square during it's global release weekend and led to Nicolas being named as an Instagram Official Pride Creator. This success led to a deluxe repackage of the EP, where McCoppin collaborated with prolific songwriter Bonnie McKee (Katy Perry - “Teenage Dream”) to write the standout track “Dancing on the Moon”.

McCoppin's latest project is a record of loss and love, painstakingly documenting the journey of losing creative and romantic soulmates while searching for the exit door from a past self. Focus track "DEEP END!" was the last song written for the project, an ode to new love, new lives, and new heartbreaks. Moody synths and industrial tinged drum samples underpin his compelling vocal performances throughout the release, creating a sinister but vibrant sonic tapestry. Driving dance beats and bright moments punctuate the darkness with an earworm quality that dance and electro fans will love. All 9 songs deliver a catchy melody while emphasizing the emotional core of the lyrics, showing yet again that McCoppin delivers pop music that is more than the sum of its parts.

"mind motel is my baby, a record of an insane period of my life and something I've put more of myself into than anything I've ever done. I spent the majority of the last two years locked in my head, finding new rooms within myself that I hadn’t even conceived of. mind motel is the map to the maze I live within every day; but as I brought the project to life it became the key to the exit door I'd been searching for the entire time.
