Alternative folk artist Madison McCreary recently launched her 9-track album "Time and Tide". The album was officially dropped on April 30th and is now available on all streaming platforms. The record touches upon themes of dating, friendships, restlessness, and the complicated emotions that arise while being home for the holidays. A misty, nostalgic tone fuses with story-driven lyrics and female-powered harmonies to create the dreamy release that is "Time and Tide".

"Time + Tide is a window into my head and heart. It moves through the months of the year, capturing the tension between the desire to stay rooted and roam free. I hope my music creates the same nostalgic feeling as rediscovering an old folded-up note in your back pocket."

Each track on the album is either named after a month or has a month hidden in its meaning or lyrics, reiterating the theme of time. McCreary's lyrics ebb and flow through phases of growth in her life and the lives of her loved ones. Crisp harmonies and smooth rhythms play into elements of beauty and nature, representing time and gravity affecting the tides of life. The opening track "January" considers the fear and risk associated with being vulnerable and diving into something new - whether it be a new year, a new relationship, or a new job. The record is concluded with track 9, "December," which warmly embraces the listener in the sentiment: home is not a place, it is the people we love. The album's instrumentation floats from being homey and grounded to being fairy-like and light, embodying different stages of childhood and growing pains.

Album Collaborators:

Emily Wills (backup vocals, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, piano); Chris Joslin (banjo, mandolin, dobro, guitar); Hadley Rouse (backup vocals); Matthew Wills (percussion, bass)
