Orlando Mendez, aka the “Cuban Cowboy” from Season 22 of NBC's hit show “The Voice” is launching a brand new single. The track, “Long Gone Lullaby” is a gritty, honest, country-rock revenge ballad. The single was produced by Lucio Rubino, featuring Orlando Mendez on lead vocals and Jack Sizemore on the guitar.

“Long Gone Lullaby” is an energetic breakup anthem that embraces the power of finally being over an ex. The lyrics are charged with brutal honesty and a bit of bitterness. The song captures a feeling of weathering the storm of heartbreak and finally starting to see the light on the other side. Soft and tender musical elements are featured at the beginning of the track, making the listener assume that this is a love song. The chorus comes in strong, with a punch of rock-and-roll and a tinge of harsh lyrics that change the dynamic of the tune completely. The song is centered around the final line of the chorus which says it all: “Here's your long gone lullaby.” The juxtaposition of sweet and bitter sentiments throughout “Long Gone Lullaby” keeps listeners on their toes, keeping the ear sharp and the heart sore.

Currently based in Nashville, TN, Orlando Mendez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. During his time on NBC's hit show “The Voice,” Mendez was dubbed “The Cuban Cowboy” by fans supporting his Miami-inflused country-rock flare. Mendez's grandparents were tobacco farmers back in Cuba for several generations. After Fidel Castro took over the island, his grandparents' land and everything they had built for themselves was confiscated. They made the hard decision to leave Cuba with just the clothes on their backs in pursuit of a better life for their kids and for their kids' kids (Orlando and his siblings). Orlando expresses gratitude for his family and all they have given up to provide him with a better life:

"They made sacrifices so I could be here today pursuing the American dream and trying to make a name for myself in the world of country music.”
- Orlando Mendez, Country Rock Singer
