After unleashing “Shadow of a Doubt” in March, proving their pulverizing promise, the LINY based Post Punk/Hardcore outfit known as Lunacy Commission is off their rocker and out of the asylum again in anticipation of the impending release of their brand new debut self-titled EP; recorded by Frank Mitaritonna and mastered by Mike Watts at VuDu Studios in Port Jefferson, NY and available worldwide on September 16th.

In support and celebration of the release, Lunacy Commission will be performing selections from the EP in the New York area on Saturday September 23rd at Elite Sound Stage, 80d Dale St, West Babylon, NY 11704 as part of a behemoth of a show alongside friends The Neon Skyline (EP Release), I Ignite, & Craving Strange; with a special acoustic set by Mike Wahmann. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are $30 including admission and refreshments of all kinds for the night.

Hailing from Long Island, New York, the Post Punk / Post Hardcore “adjacent” quartet (think Alkaline Trio, Rancid, Joe Strummer) known as Lunacy Commission have made a serious splash within the local Long Island music scene. Originally the brainchild of Jay Foster (vocals/guitar) and Nick Callister (bass/vocals), Jay quickly tapped Chris Kuroly (vocals/guitar) to join. Since their inception in 2020, LuCo has shuffled through drummers, enlisting the talents of Dan Leo, Ricky Cardona and the former, and current drummer, Ian Dubson.

Recently, Lunacy Commission’s six song debut release was recorded at VuDu Studios (The Dear Hunter / Glassjaw / Holy Fawn / Story of the Year / Taking Back Sunday etc.) in Port Jefferson, NY. Co-produced, engineered and mixed by Frank Mitaritonna and Mastered by Mike Watts, the EP is due to be released on all streaming platforms on September 16th, 2023; followed by a physical product which will be available at some point in early 2024.

With this eagerly anticipated new music set for launch and a handful of stellar live performances at venues like Amityville Music Hall and The Spotlight at The Paramount under their belts, Lunacy Commission shows no signs of stopping any time soon. The band is currently working on writing, while playing select special events and shows. You can find them on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and wherever else you may get your social media fix.
