In their 50th anniversary year, pioneering godfathers of Afro-beat, Osibisa reached out to global icon, Louie Vega, to bring a fresh collaboration to their new release, ‘Yo Luv Is Betta’, taken from their 2021 studio album ‘New Dawn’. Vega instantly pulled in right-hand-man, Josh Milan (keyboardist and co-remixer) to bring justice to this mighty track, with Osibisa ‘You Luv Is Betta Louie Vega Remix’ - The Stellar Celebration Mix & Expansions NYC Dub released:

Digital format: 14 January 2022
Vinyl format to follow soon

Written by Osibisa front man, Gregg Kofi Brown, the track was inspired by the passing of Afrobeat legendary drummer, Tony Allen, and features vocals from Ghanaian vocalist, Ssue. Steeped in voluptuously rich vocals, ‘Yo Luv Is Betta’ serves-up a delicious melodic cocktail of afro-beats, flecked with jazz undertones and big-band instrumentals. The remix combines a joy-ride of Afrobeat and Afro / Brazilian house, sparkled with scintillating sitars, re-arranged horn stabs and the metal tines of a Fender Rhodes.

The Stellar Celebration mix and the Expansions NYC Dub is a classic Vega/Milan hot biscuit for dancers worldwide.

Osibisa ‘Yo Luv Is Betta Louie Vega Remix’: The Stellar Celebration Mix & Expansions NYC Dub is released on Vega Records on 14 January (digital) /vinyl to follow soon

About

Osibisa are a Ghanaian Afro Rock band, founded in London in 1969 by four expatriate African and three Caribbean musicians.
Their music is a fusion of African, Caribbean, jazz, funk, rock, Latin, and R&B and highlife. They were originally signed to MCA Records.
Osibisa were the most successful and longest lived of the African-heritage bands in London, alongside such contemporaries as Assagai, Chris McGregor's Brotherhood of Breath, Demon Fuzz, and Noir, and were largely responsible for the establishment of world music as a marketable genre.
**Sunshine Day was a track originally released on the 1976 Welcome Home album on Bronze Records. It reached No17 in the UK charts in January of the same year.
