22 OCTOBER 2021 (TORONTO, ON) - Ten years on, and after demands from his loyal fan base, Ólafur Arnalds has released The Invisible EP, out today. The profound contemporary artist behind Broadchurch and some kind of peace originally crafted the music for a historical documentary, The Invisible Front. The never-before released music was re-discovered in Ólafur’s musical archive, like many things, in the heart of lockdown.

Of the EP, Ólafur says, "I wrote the music on The Invisible EP for a film score over 10 years ago. While sorting through some unreleased material I found these songs buried on an old hard drive. It's a funny thing, looking back on your own music. Since I wrote these so many things have changed, in the world, in my career, in my life. But still they resonated with me and I hope that they do with you as well. So, after 10 years on the shelf, here is a time capsule from a different era."

The Invisible Front poignantly documents the Lithuanian resistance against Soviet forces during WW2 beside an unexpected and unforgettable story of love. The uncovered hard drive represents Ólafur Arnalds’ creative output a decade ago, before his BAFTA award and prior to, as he says, much change in his life. It’s a stirring sonic preservation in the career of this continuously evolving artist. Composed by Ólafur, the EP includes the prominent Partisans single and Epilogue, as featured in Nomadland. With his sights always set on the next big project, The Invisible EP is a rare glance of Ólafur taking stock of the past. After the incredible success of his most recent release, some kind of peace, Ólafur prepares for 2022’s full North American tour, as well as European and international dates to follow.

In his monumental career to date, Ólafur Arnalds has collaborated with prolific British artist Bonobo, as well as another unconventional creative, Nils Frahm. Ólafur is a self-confessed perfectionist who has presented the details of his creative growth against the backdrop of an increasingly chaotic world whilst effortlessly uniting opposing worlds with delicate, epic compositions that have sold-out the UK’s most prestigious venue, The Royal Albert Hall.
