5SOS win prestigious Rock Sound award

Australian pop-punk band 5 Seconds Of Summer have been crowned the winners of Rock Sound magazine's Best International Newcomer prize in the readers' poll.

The 'She Looks So Perfect' heartthrobs went head to head with the likes of Gerard Way (former My Chemical Romance frontman), PVRIS, Issues, and Beartooth for the title, but proved themselves to be the most popular of the bunch and came out on top.

5SOS were also nominated in the Worst International Band category, but Florida-based Blood On The Dance Floor won. In addition to this, the lads were tipped to win Most Improved Band, but lost out to British noise-mongers Bring Me The Horizon, who recently headlined London's famed Wembley Arena.

The boys recently spoke to People magazine about the best moments they've had over the last 12 months and revealed that it has been an amazing year for them all: "I think just putting together our own album and putting out our music, and stuff like that. And we played two shows at The Forum in LA not so long ago. We've had so many it's hard to narrow it down."
