5 Seconds of Summer tease 'very different' and 'more personal' new album

5 Seconds of Summer have confirmed that they have "almost finished" their next album.

The lads have been busy working on the follow-up to their 2014 self-titled debut.

Speaking to Nova 96.9, the band confirmed that most of the work has been completed.

They added that fans should expect a "personal" album that is slightly different in sound to their last effort.

Ashton Irwin said: "We wrote an album in LA in about three months. It's all recorded. I love it.

Luke Hemmings added: "We're very proud of it. It's almost finished - there's a few bits we need to do to it.

"Very happy with it - couldn't be more proud. It's definitely more personal than the first album. The first album was all over the place, because we wrote it over such a long period of time."

Irwin then said: "It's very different - I wouldn't expect the same thing."
