5SOS's Ashton Irwin up for Drum Personality of 2015 title

MusicRadar.com is currently running an end of year poll to find the best drummers in different genres and categories, and 5SOS's Ashton Irwin is up for the title.

The site's Rhythm 2015 Readers' Poll is now open and Irwin, who drums for 5 Seconds Of Summer, has been nominated in the Drum Personality of 2015 category. The heartthrob is up against tough competition in the form of Ringo Starr, Mike Portnoy, Tommy Lee and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. You can cast your vote by clicking here.

One Direction's live drummer Josh Devine has been nominated in the Best Pop/Session Drummer of 2015 category alongside the likes of Karl Brazil (Robbie Williams), Jeremy Stacey (Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds), and Brian Frasier Moore (Madonna). You can vote in this section here.

Earlier this month, 5SOS spoke to Sugarscape magazine about their aims as a band and Irwin explained that they just want their fans to see them as authentic: "It's important to talk about those things, because we're going to be on tour for a long time and for us to be honest with our fans is a key point of being in this band. We want to be honest about how we feel and we don't want to bullsh*t them."
