Ariana Grande: 'Overcoming insecurity has been really hard'

Vocal sensation Ariana Grande has revealed that insecurity is a tough thing to deal with and she has really struggled with it under the scrutiny of the spotlight.

Speaking exclusively to Seventeen magazine, the beauty admitted that she's at a time in her life where she struggles with self-confidence and having to find the strength to overcome that in the public eye has been really difficult:

"Insecurity has been the hardest thing I've had to overcome. I think everyone my age struggles with that because everyone strives for approval and wants to feel loved."

"I focus on what's important. My grandpa is sick, so I focus on him every day. I'm having the biggest song of my career so far, and all I can think about is my grandpa, because that's what's important to me."

Sadly, Grande's grandfather has since died and she has now spoken out his passing, which took place after this interview was conducted, and admitted that she hopes the magazine's readers find what she had to say useful and inspiring:

"This interview took place before I lost my grandfather. Reading it back now is, of course, very hard but I'm so grateful that I spoke briefly about some of the wisdom he shared with me in this interview. I hope the Seventeen readers find it helpful and can relate."
